Welcome to the Repique de Mão Basics Course!
The Repique de Mão ("Hand Repique") is a typical samba percussion instrument from Brazil used in small group samba settings (such as a samba/pagode band or a "roda de samba" gathering). It was created by Ubirany Félix do Nascimento, one of the founding members of the legendary Grupo Fundo de Quintal (The Backyard Group), in the 1970s and has since become a classic instrument in the genre used by samba groups the world over.
